Flora Supplements
Flora was originally founded in 1965 in Burnaby, British Columbia. Owner Thomas Greither, while running an all natural foods store in Vermont, dreamed that one day he would be able to create high quality natural health products to be made available to consumers. In the beginning, Flora did distribution and marketing work for European herbal formulas and remedies, and was one of the first companies in Canada to introduce alternative, natural health products. Eventually, Flora started making its own therapeutic herbal teas and natural bulk laxatives. Since these all natural and herbal teas were a unique product in Canada at the time, they became increasingly popular.
With expansion into the United States in 1988, Flora opened a manufacturing facility and purchased acres of land on which they could grow organic herbs. This allowed the entire manufacturing process to be completed by Flora, from planting the seeds, lab testing raw ingredients, herb extraction, encapsulation and product packaging. By 1992, their well-known herbal formula called Flor•Essence was released and became popular for its said “positive influence on a host of chronic conditions” and “life-rejuvenating benefits. Dedicated to producing all natural supplements and formulas of superior quality, Flora tries to stay ahead of the game through innovative product development and an environmentally friendly manufacturing process.
My Natural Market offers many of the certified organic oils that Flora produces including sesame, flax, walnut, pumpkin and almond oil, as well as mineral-herbal blend liquid extract formulas. These include Calcium-Magnesium with Zinc, Vitamin D and Herbs, and Iron + Herbs. Other all natural supplements from Flora include Infant’s Probiotics, Udo’s Choice Oil 3 6 9 Blend Organic Omega Fatty Acids, an Enzyme Blend of Ten Plant Enzymes, and Sambu Wild Grown Elderberry Concentrate.
