It is said that natural herbal extracts are up to six times stronger than the herb alone, and therefore, herbal extracts are the form recommended most often for therapeutic use.
My Natural Market offers all natural herbal extracts, meaning no chemicals or added fillers are present. This makes the extract safer and easier for your body to process. Since there are no added ingredients, your body can immediately absorb herbs in their liquid extract form. The active ingredient of the herb is suspended in liquid, which is usually a mixture of alcohol and water, but many of our herbal extracts are alcohol-free and are suspended in a pure vegetable glycerine base.
Liquid herbal extracts remain potent for 5 to 7 years. The alcohol-free extracts can be kept for 5 years, but only if unopened. After about 6 months you should have used or discarded the bottle in order to avoid contamination. However, if you refrigerate the alcohol-free natural herbal extract it will be good for a year after opening. Other liquid herbal extracts that contain alcohol are said to last at least seven years, regardless of if they have been opened or are still sealed. To keep them fresh and effective it is recommended that you keep the bottles tightly closed, and store them in a cool, dry area away from windows and sunlight.
