Motherlove Herbal Company
Established in 1990, Motherlove was the first all natural herbal supplement and personal care product line created especially for women who were pregnant and nursing. The idea first came to Kathryn Higgins, Founder, President and Herbalist for the Motherlove Herbal Company, when she was pregnant with her first child. Coming from a family abundant with medical knowledge, early life experiences helped Higgins develop into the specialist, professor and creator she is today. Surrounded by experts—her grandfather was a researcher, father a doctor at the Mayo Clinic and brother a graduate at the Mayo Medical School—and also inspired by nature, Higgins eventually began incorporating nutritious wild plants into her everyday life.
After a while, she began growing her own herbs and wildflowers, and mixing special, natural concoctions to use as personal care products. Once pregnant, she continued her natural health approach and used herbs to create teas, liquid herbal extracts, baths and oils that would aid her during child birth. These formulas are the basis of Motherlove’s products. As she learned more and more about holistic medicine, people became more familiar with her practice. She began teaching classes about herbs, herbal body products and herbal medicine making, led walks to teach identification of medicinal and edible herbs in the wild and always kept on making her original herbal pregnancy products.
Motherlove is confident in their herbal products and believes they have been time tested and proven due to the integrity of ingredients, care, wisdom and knowledge of herbal remedies that goes into making their formulas. Mothers will experience the healing nature of their pure herbal supplements, composed from fine, organic ingredients and manufactured following the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) issued by the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) and the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). |
