Pau d’ Arco

Pau d’Arco, the inner bark of the Tabebuia avellanedae tree, is native to Brazil, where it is used traditionally to ease the discomfort of arthritis, and to support the body’s natural tendency to resist inflammation of the prostate gland. Traditional healers also use this versatile herb as nutritional support therapy in minor instances of dysentery, and to soothe the discomfort of occasional boils and ulcers. In the Western world Pau d’Arco is used by modern herbalists to support the creation of a normal internal environment inhospitable to various types of unwanted foreign organisms found in the vagina. Pau d'Arco has proven to be one of nature's best fungus infection fighters. This versatile herb may enhance the body’s natural inclination to rid itself of occasional minor complaints such as athlete's foot and yeast infections. Pau d'Arco contains three anti-yeast compounds—lapachol, beta-lapachone and xyloidine—that have been shown to be effective against candida albicans and other common problem fungi.1 "Pau d' Arco…is called the "divine tree." It is helpful in rheumatism and arthritic inflammation, prostatitis, cystitis, and beneficial for controlling fungus and yeast overgrowth in the body.

Directions:

Adults and children 12 or more years of age, take one to two capsules twice daily with water at mealtimes or prepared as a tea. For intensive use, take three to four capsules three times daily. Do not exceed seven days. Not for use by pregnant or lactating women. Discontinue use and consult your Health Professional if any adverse reactions occur. Keep away from children.
