Why Brazilian Green Propolis?
Derived from the vegetation surrounding the bees’ hive, the potency and composition of propolis depends highly on its regional source. Known as the Gold Standard of propolis, the best Brazilian propolis is often referred to as “Green Propolis” due to its vivid color. In particular, Brazilian Green Propolis found in the Minas Gerais region is derived mostly from Alecrim (Baccharis dracunculiforia), an herb peculiar to South America. The wild-growing plants are free of pesticide residue and allergy-causing agents.*
Minas Gerais Green Propolis contains remarkably high cinnamic acid derivatives (i.e. Artepillin C) and is, consequently, more potent than any other source. The unique Africanized honey bees of this area have adapted to living in a very difficult environment; the potency of their propolis reflects this fact. Preserving that potency, Dr. Ohhira’s Green Propolis PLUS uses a patented water-soluble extraction method to remove the green propolis from its natural environment.

Propolis is a natural protective antibiotic substance that bees apply throughout the interior of their hives. Flavonoid-rich, it is derived from plant and tree resins. Coating the hive walls and filling cracks and gaps, propolis protects against the elements, pathogens, molds, and bad bacteria. There is a long history of folk use of propolis, going back to ancient Egypt and Greece where it was used externally for dermal care and internally to promote digestive and joint health.*
Suggested Use:
A. Take three capsules daily with water: one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. Take the suggested dosage for 21 days, refrain for seven days, and then repeat. Or use as directed by your health care professional.
(Children under age 6: 1 capsule daily at bedtime.) For best results, take on an empty stomach.
