Spearmint is similar to peppermint in action and is mainly used as a cooling, energizing, refreshing and revitalizing oil and like peppermint it's also great for the respiratory, & digestive systems.
Traditionally used for: balancing metabolism, bronchitis, colic, gas, vomiting, bad breath, sore gums, hiccups, stress, migraines, headaches, candida, flatulence, nausea, cramps, eases labor, reduces milk and heavy periods, an antiseptic, antifungal, antispasmodic, anti infectious, antiparasitic, anti inflammatory, a natural anti mouse repellent and more!
Believe it or not the best way to get the most benefits from Health Fusion 100% pure essential oils is not by taking them internally. In fact, because essential oils taken internally have to pass through the digestive system where they will come into contact with food, bacteria & digestive juices which can effect the oils chemistry, and also because some oils can be harmful and even lethal when taken internally, we don’t recommend the internal use of our oils. Not recommending our oils for internal use has absolutely nothing to do with the purity, but everything to do with the safety, quickness and effectiveness of our oils.
The quickest, safest, and most effective method in which to utilize the powerful benefits of Health Fusion 100% Pure Essential Oils is to simply breathe them in. When oils are inhaled they have the ability to get into the body via the respiratory system, and through the lungs hey can be absorbed into the body almost instantly! Another effective way to use the oils is to apply them topically and allow them to “soak” into the skin through the pours. When applied to the skin (be sure to dilute if necessary) they will absorb quickly and as a benefit will also smell great!

Here are some common (and not so common) ways to harvest the benefits of these oils:
After you have washed your hair and body with a pure soap in your morning or evening shower, turn the drain and allow the water to begin to fill the tub. Now simply add a couple drops of your favorite essential oil into the filling water. This will act as a foot bath, and with the steam causing the added oil(s) to dissipate, the shower is now a sauna, diffuser, and humidifier as well utilizing multiple and effective hydrotherapy methods at once!
- This will act as a footbath:
As the hot water begins to fill the tub the pours of the feet will remain open absorbing the oil(s). The pours on the bottom of the feet are the largest pours on the body and have an incredible ability to pull properties from ingredients added to a foot bath. Foot baths are often used for people who are too weak to intake solid food for this same reason. With some oils you can detect the oil on one’s breath only seconds after an essential oil has been added to a footbath.
- This will also act as a sauna, diffuser, humidifier, and a cleanser:
As the oil is collecting on your feet and you’re helping yourself to a foot bath, the oil is also dissipating in the steam and now you’ve transformed your shower into a sauna and you can inhale the oils to benefit from them almost instantly! Saunas are commonly used in hydro therapy and cleansing because saunas open the pours of the body and promote sweat, which offers the body another method in which it can push toxins from our bodies! For best cleansing results try Cypress, Lemon, or Juniper.
- It’s a perfect time for deep breathing exercises:
With the essential oil aroma in the steam filling the bathroom this is a perfect time to do deep breathing exercises to stimulate and cleanse the millions of air sacs in the lungs. Deep breathing exercises provide a great work out to the air sacs which in turn helps them transfer more oxygen and nutrients to the tissues while helping to carry off carbon dioxide and other waste products to help our bodies become less congested and therefore healthier. Deep breathing also strengthens the lungs and makes them less susceptible to disease, sickness, and cancer.
For best results with deep breathing exercises try Eucalyptus, Basil, Rosemary, Oregano, and Thyme.
This is only one method of using essential oils but it’s incredibly beneficial because it’s working on so many levels at once. It’s also a good idea to coordinate the oil added to your shower with your unique situation.
Some suggestions are:
- For a sluggish morning pick me up:
Orange, Lemon, Peppermint, Spearmint, Basil, Rosemary.
- You have a big day ahead, or a big presentation need to be focused:
Basil, Rosemary, Lemon, Juniper.
- Your late, in a hurry and need to counter stress and anxiety:
Lavender, Ylang Ylang Extra, Juniper, geranium.
- The cold & flu is going around work or school and you wan to protect yourself:
Frankincense, Myrrh, Oregano, Lemon, Lavender, Thyme, Peppermint, Spearmint, lemon, black cumin.
- For young children who deal with hyperactivity, or have a hard time with focusing:
Infuse with oils of Rosemary, Basil, Lavender, Ylang Ylang Extra, Juniper, or geranium.
- For the entire family when cold and flu is being passed around:
Frankincense, Myrrh, Oregano, Lemon, Lavender, Thyme, Peppermint, Spearmint, lemon, or black cumin.
- Clean, disinfect, and add fresh scent to clothing in washer:
Add a couple drops Essential Oil of Tea Tree, Eucalyptus or Lavender to a batch of clothes going into the washer. These oils are natural bug repellents and will aid with disinfecting them as well. Unlike commercial washing products, Health Fusion essential oils are completely safe, and smell great!
- Make your own all natural, non-toxic, chemical & synthetic free potpourri
Unlike the synthetic & chemical laden potpourri you will find at the stores why not make your own? You can design your own blend to follow the seasons. For example try something “fresh” for summer, “spicy” for autumn, or “unique” for a Holiday just around the corner. Add a couple drop of a single Health Fusion essential oil blend, or create your own unique blend and add a couple drops to the items you’re infusing and enclose them in an airtight bag for 24-36 hours you’re your done. As the scent wears down simply repeat the process again.

- Valentines Day: Lavender, Ylang Ylang Extra, Geranium, Orange.
